December 2018

Our Christmas Luncheon was held on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at the Park Ridge Country Club. I would like to Thank, Mr. Boguslaw & Mrs. Barbara Bosak, for sponsoring us for the many years we have had events at the Park Ridge Country Club. I invited them to join us and they had a very nice time. Starting with a cocktail hour and sale of the book, “Poland: A Portrait of the Country Through It’s Festivals and Traditions” sponsored by the American Council of Polish Culture (ACPC). We sold 25 books, many members want to give them to their grandchildren for Christmas. The President Welcomed Members, Family & Friends, and then the inspiring invocation/prayer by Edward Kunzman, our 1st Vice President, is always so uplifting. We broke Opatki with everyone and wished them each “Health, Prosperity & Happiness in the new year,” a Polish Christmas Eve tradition. We sold raffle tickets and our members won some beautiful prizes, and our centerpieces on the table, lovely red poinsettia plants, were also raffled off. Lunch was soup, salad & stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans, white or red wine was included, the presentation & service impeccable. The entertainment, The Lira Ensemble, Soloist & Pianist, sang Polish & English Christmas Carols, a magnificent performance, presented by Lucyna Migala, Director & Manager of the Lira Ensemble. The Park Ridge Country Club out-did themselves with beautiful Christmas decorations around the room, it was a perfect afternoon! Thank you all who attended and see you at the Installation in June, 2019 and next Christmas!

August 2018

Film: "The Lilpop Sisters and their Passions"

This was a private screening for members and their guests. This film was originally presented at the 2006 Polish Film Festival. The event was held Tuesday, August 28th, 2018.

We had a very enjoyable evening with 30 members and their guests attending. Appetizers from Montrose Deli were served along with cocktails.

Magda Krance, of the Chicago Lyric Opera, whose family the film is about, graciously accepted our invitation to introduce the film. Afterward, she answered questions and mingled with the guests.

The Society for Art Gallery was the perfect setting for our event, many thanks to Christopher Kamyszew and his staff, Barbara and Anna, for their hard work.
