Classical Music Scholarship in Chicago

The Polish Arts Club of Chicago is an affiliate of the American Council for Polish Culture.

$1000 Music Scholarship Eligibility


The scholarhsip applicant must be an American citizen who is:
of Polish heritage

  • attending college in the Chicago metropolitan area
  • a serious student of classical music
  • an above‐average student


Application


Please submit the following to edwardkunzman6g@yahoo.com:

  • a letter of intent, stating your full name, address, cell phone number, e‐mail address, area of study, and the college you attend
  • a statement of ur Polish heritage:
    • 1st generation or 2nd generation
    • parents’ or grandparents’ city of origin
  • two (2) letters of recommendation, one from a music teacher and the other from another faculty member


Repertoire


The applicant will prepare at least two selections of contrasting style, together not to exceed 15 minutes. It is recommended that the performer provide a piano accompanist when appropriate.


Location


Auditions will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Pianoforte, which is located at 1335 South Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Specific times will be assigned when all applications have been received.

All applications must be submitted to above e‐mail address by Friday, May 26, 2017.


The winner(s) will be asked to perform without fee at a gathering of the Polish Arts Club of Chicago.
